The Labour Party

Labour has a proud history, with achievements – from the NHS to the welfare state – that have made a lasting difference to the lives of people across our country. Over the past century, we have been the Party of the many, not the few.

In 2019, the Labour Party stood on a transformative, radical manifesto which prioritised tackling the climate emergency, ending food bank Britain and rewriting the rules of the economy so it works for everyone. Our manifesto pledged to to deliver a million genuinely affordable homes and a million climate jobs across every region and nation of the UK.

Lewisham Deptford Labour

Our local Labour Party in Lewisham Deptford is a strong, people powered movement full of dedicated activists. We lead campaigns in the local community to make life better for ordinary people, and we campaign in elections to make sure the Labour Party represents us in our local council, in the Greater London Authority (GLA) and in Parliament.

Lewisham Deptford is currently represented by Labour MP Vicky Foxcroft in Parliament. Our Labour Mayor in Lewisham is Damien Egan and our Labour Mayor in London is Sadiq Khan. Every ward in Lewisham Deptford is represented by three Labour councillors, who represent us on Lewisham Council. We are also represented by Len Duvall, our Labour GLA member for Lewisham and Greenwich.
