Councillors Local Update

Labour- Working hard for Ladywell

The Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) consultation for some additional roads in the ward closed on the 10th October. As part of our ward commitment for the local election in May we promised that this would take place. Many views have been expressed by residents through attending ward assemblies, emails to us as your local Councillors and to the Mayor and officers of the Council and at the 2 consultation sessions on 2nd and 4th Oct and We expect the consultation findings to be published in January. As ward Councillors we will be meeting with the officers of the council at the end of the year to ensure that the consultation process and results are transparent and clear for residents.

During our canvassing sessions local people who live in the Loampit Hill / Halesworth Rd part of the ward have given feedback to us that they feel slightly cut off from the rest of the ward. In response to these comments we have established a third surgery in the ward at St John's Medical Centre on Loampit Hill on the first Saturday of the month between 10.00- 11.00.

Residents living in the Brockley part of our ward recently attended a meeting chaired by Cllr Carl Handley about the proposed development of the Old Brockley Police Station. The proposal is to build 9 houses on the site and residents were able to put across their views and objections to council officers who will be reviewing these comments as part of the overall planning process
