Lewisham Deptford Labour For the many, not the few
At our General Committee next week, we will discuss what our policy priorities for Labour Conference is and choose which motion to send to conference; we will choose from Social Care (calls for a properly funded National Care Service) , Supporting those in need: rebuilding the welfare state (this proposes a comprehensive program of effective reform aimed at restoring the concept of social security), Ending the ‘hostile environment’ – justice for the Windrush generation, two motions on Brexit, (both reaffirming 2016 policy that if the Tory terms are unacceptable, Labour will seek a second mandate), NEC anti-Semitism code (supporting the NEC July position), and Stop the Academies Disaster: A Democratic, Local Authority Schools System (I think you get the idea).
Some of the motion titles are bit long, but that’s because of the Conference rules, some people like to get a decent slogan into the title which is limited to 10 words.
This meeting is open to elected delegates only.
