Improvements to Courthill Road Crossing

Improvements to Courthill Road Crossing

Local Lewisham Central Councillors Stella, Damien and Joan are delighted that the long-awaited improvement to cross Courthill Road at its junction with Lewisham High Street is currently underway.

Local residents have had long standing concerns about the safety of this crossing and the work  will address these concerns and decrease the danger the crossing poses to all of us.  The changes to the 181 and 225 bus routes have already been implemented and soon the left turn from the High Street by the old snooker hall will be removed.

The old snooker hall itself is due for a revamp by its new owners, the Tabernacle Church who are renovating the whole building.  This received Planning Permission only a few weeks ago and we hope the work will begin within the next six months.  All of this work will lead to a new lease of life at this end of Lewisham High Street.
